Qmed Releases Top-Line Findings of Medical Device Supplier Sourcing Trends Study

NEW YORK, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Canon and Qmed, the world's only 100% qualified medical device supplier directory, released the top-line findings from a supplier sourcing study focused on how medical device manufacturers research, identify, and select suppliers during the product design cycle. The study further explored the types of resources, qualifications, and organization information that medical device design and manufacturing professionals accessed and used during that process. The results clearly established the importance of qualifications and certifications when sourcing medical device suppliers and affirmed Qmed's core mission and role in that process.

The qualitative and quantitative surveys were conducted by third-party, business-to-business research firms Merrill Research and TMC Group. Top-line findings were presented today at MD&M East, UBM Canon's leading trade show and conference for the medical device design and manufacturing community, held June 7-9 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.
