Q2i launches CASA, technology supporting residential and outpatient recovery clinics with their after treatment programs
BOSTON, Jan. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Q2i announces the launch of a new software application that provides ongoing support to patients recovering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD) when leaving a residential treatment facility, Partial Hospitalization Program or Intensive Outpatient Program.
19.9 million adults needed substance use treatment in the past year, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) latest National Survey on Drug Use and Health.
The innovative app called CASA (Continuing Alumni Support Application) empowers healthcare providers to deliver an increased level of connection, support and after treatment care to patients recovering from SUD. CASA helps providers to improve the continuum of care, especially in the early stages of recovery.
Leaving a residential facility or outpatient program and navigating the transition back into daily life can be difficult, sometimes overwhelming and oftentimes dangerous too.
CASA enables healthcare providers to deliver continuing recovery support and is used to regularly deliver helpful educational and motivational content that help strengthen and sustain recovery for the long-term, including reinforcement of relapse prevention strategies.
The app also offers peer-to-peer messaging to give and receive support with other alumni of the clinic or treatment facility.
A supportive network of sober peers is critical to recovery. Peer support messaging helps build and maintain a network of sober friends who relate to similar experiences and challenges.
CASA also provides the healthcare team with valuable post treatment feedback, extending vision and insight into the patient's recovery journey.
The CASA application complements Q2i's OARS solution that was released in 2017.
OARS (Opioid Addiction Recovery Support) is used by providers of MAT programs to improve insight into a patient's recovery progress while promoting ownership and adherence to treatment plans. OARS also provides extensive tools to support patients with recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.
Using OARS patients are better connected to, and supported by their healthcare team throughout their recovery journey.
This extended connection and support fosters conditions for:
- Fewer relapses
- Decreased in-patient admissions/re-admissions
- Less overdose incidents
- Reduced ER visits
