Pyrex® Brand Cooks Up Some Fun to Find America's Hottest Culinary Couple

Pyrex® brand is launching the America's Hottest Culinary Couple national search to find its first "real" spokescouple and the stars of an original online cooking and entertainment series. Video entries begin today at www.AmericasHottestCulinaryCouple.com. The winning couple will be awarded the title, along with their own online TV series, $10,000 cash and $500 in Pyrex® products to equip their kitchen in style.
For 95 years, the Pyrex® brand has helped make cooking easier with innovative products inspired by real people across the country. That's why the brand is taking a different approach to traditional cooking shows by capturing a real-life couple's new adventures in the kitchen – the fun, everyday moments and even the funny mistakes – as they navigate how to try new recipes, ideas and tips together.
"While we can learn a lot from the pros, most people want to learn from someone they can relate to," said Pam McMeen, director of brand marketing, Pyrex. "We're looking for couples who love cooking and having fun together, and who can help teach us how to solve common kitchen dilemmas."
There are three contest phases:
- Enter: From now through August 16, upload a three-minute or less video explaining why the two of you deserve to win the title. To prove it, entries must include a demonstration of your best cooking and entertaining tips; show how well you work together in the kitchen; and showcase your creativity by whipping up an original recipe with some help from Pyrex® products.
- Vote: From the total pool of hopefuls, up to 10 videos will be selected to put to an online popular vote from August 23-27. America will choose two finalists.
- Win: The top two couples chosen by America will compete in a celebrity-judged culinary face-off challenge in NYC in September to show their chops and vie for the title of America's Hottest Culinary Couple. The couple selected to be the winner will star in their own online video series to premiere this September, 2010.
