DALLAS, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Provasi Capital Partners LP announced today that Quaker Event Arbitrage Fund (the "Fund", symbols QEAAX: A shares; QEACX: C shares, QEAIX: I shares) has joined the company's investment platform. The Fund--a multi-strategy event-driven fund--is focused on long-term growth of capital that invests in securities of issuers that are experiencing corporate events.
"We are very pleased to welcome the Quaker Event Arbitrage Fund to our platform and provide financial advisors with access to an event-driven strategy," said Frank Muller, CEO and President of Provasi Capital Partners. "By tactically allocating within different sub-strategies, the Fund is able to offer investors enhanced levels of diversification and seeks to mitigate risk."
Event-driven investing focuses on company-specific events. Examples of events include mergers, acquisitions, distressed securities, activist situations, liquidations, and other investment opportunities borne out of a change in a company's capital structure. These changes have the ability to capitalize on pricing inefficiencies that have the potential to generate attractive returns.
"When Thomas Kirchner opened the Fund in 2003, the event-driven investment strategy was virtually unknown to all but institutional investors. This liquid, transparent, lower cost event-driven vehicle was the next step in the evolution of the alternative mutual funds that Quaker has been offering since 1996," said Justin Brundage, President of Quaker Funds, Inc. "We believe this partnership will allow the Fund to reach a larger audience, based on the strength of Provasi Capital Partners' advisor network."

Risks:
Quaker Event Arbitrage Fund invests in "special situation" securities, as a result of merger arbitrage and capital structure arbitrage, as well as engaging in short-selling, which involves special risks and requires special investment expertise. As a non-diversified fund, which invests in a small number of issuers, changes to a single security held in the Fund will have a more pronounced negative effect on the Fund than if the investments were more widely distributed. The Fund invests in foreign securities which involved greater volatility and political, economic and currency risks and differences in accounting methods. The use of derivative investments exposes the Fund to the potential lack of liquidity, increased transaction costs and possible losses greater than the Fund's initial investment.
Consider a fund's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses carefully before investing. The statutory and, where available, the summary prospectuses contain this and other important information and are available for download at www.quakerfunds.com or by calling 888.220.8888. Read carefully before investing.
