Projects In Knowledge® Receives Extension of ANCC Accreditation as a Provider of Continuing Nursing Education
LITTLE FALLS, N.J., March 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Projects In Knowledge (www.projectsinknowledge.com), a leading developer of continuing medical education (CME/CE) programs for clinicians, has received an extension of its national accreditation as a provider of continuing nursing education from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC accredits only those continuing education providers that undergo a thorough review process.
The extension converts Projects In Knowledge's initial 2-year ANCC-accredited provider status—the maximum that a first-time applicant can receive—to a standard 4-year term, running through July 2013. The reaccreditation demonstrates that Projects In Knowledge continues to excel at producing practice-enhancing nursing education programs that meet the ANCC's rigorous standards. Nurses are required to obtain nursing education contact hours annually to maintain their certification.
Michele Fallon Ingram, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at Projects In Knowledge, spearheaded the successful applications for both the initial accreditation and subsequent extension. The extensive submission and review processes included preparation of a comprehensive self-study report and an audit of the company's educational programs. "Projects In Knowledge has always been committed to providing high-quality continuing education activities for nurses, so we are thrilled that our efforts have resulted in this achievement," Ms. Ingram said.
Patty Peterson, CCMEP, Senior Vice President at Projects In Knowledge, commented that the company's long-standing mission has been to create high-quality education programs that offer the most up-to-date information on disease management and patient care strategies to help physicians, nurses, and other clinicians develop and maintain their professional competencies. "The ANCC's reaccreditation of Projects In Knowledge as a provider of continuing nursing education validates this mission and reinforces our efforts to meet the needs of nursing professionals," Ms. Peterson said. "I'm pleased that the ANCC has recognized Projects In Knowledge's capabilities to design and deliver superior education programs in this way, and we will work hard to maintain this level of excellence."
