Urban Herb Garden Brings the Prairie's Organic Spirits "Seed to Glass" Story to Life
NEW YORK, July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Prairie Organic Spirits has launched the Prairie Garden Initiative to incorporate fresh, organic herbs and vegetables in specialty cocktails, inspired by the herbs and produce found in urban gardens. Celebrating the initiative, Prairie Organic Spirits hosted a garden cocktail event at New York Restoration Project (NYRP)'s Herb Garden in East Harlem, Manhattan, sharing Prairie Organic Spirits' "Seed to Glass" philosophy while also supporting NYRP's vision of a greener, more sustainable New York City. Created with organic corn grown and harvested by family-famers in the Minnesota prairie, Prairie Organic Spirits are meticulously crafted with care every step of the way from the corn seed through the harvest and distilling process, to create a signature smooth taste and a perfect "made in the U.S.A." spirit.
To kick off the Prairie Garden Initiative, Prairie Organic Spirits hosted an intimate cocktail event in June, unveiling four signature cocktails created by New York establishments Jacob's Pickles and Prospect, which will be featured as limited-time cocktails available through the summer season only. Each cocktail is inspired by the organic herbs grown in The Herb Garden, incorporating carefully grown ingredients and Prairie Organic Spirits to create a full cocktail experience made with respect from seed to glass.

Rosemary Vodka Lemonade
1 ½ oz rosemary-infused Prairie Organic Vodka
2 ½ oz freshly squeezed lemonade
Muddle lemon slice and five rosemary leaves with a teaspoon of cane sugar. Add remaining ingredients, top with ice and shake. Pour over ice in collins glass.
Cucumber Mint Cooler
3 cucumber slices
¼ cup loosely packed fresh mint leaves
½ teaspoon granulated sugar
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 ½ oz Prairie Organic Vodka
½ oz Cointreau
Add mint, sugar, cucumbers and lime juice to a cocktail shaker and shake. Add the vodka and Cointreau, and shake. Strain into 4 glasses filled with ice. Garnish each cocktail with a cucumber spear.

¾ oz Prairie Organic Gin
¾ oz Prairie Organic Vodka
¾ oz simple syrup
¾ oz lemon juice
½ oz Contratto Bitter
Rosemary
Prosecco/sparkling wine
Put simple syrup in shaker with six rosemary stalks and muddle. Add all other ingredients except Prosecco into shaker. Shake, then double strain into a collins glass with ice. Top with Prosecco. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

2 oz Prairie Organic Gin
½ oz Lemongrass/Kaffir Lime Simple Syrup
½ oz lemon juice
Togarashi Salt
Basil
Take coupe and rub half the rim with a lime. Dip that into a mixture of Togarashi and salt to create a salted rim. Tear up two large basil leaves and put them in shaker. Add gin, simple syrup, and lemon juice. Shake and double strain into coupe.
