PR Newswire and Vintage Filings representatives will be presenting the Capital Markets Visibility 365 program at the Marcum MicroCap Conference, June 20th at the Roosevelt Hotel, New York City. Additionally, Scott Mozarsky, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Commercial Officer, PR Newswire, will be a featured panelist for "Acquisitions as a Value Creation Strategy: Life Lessons."
A new investor targeting strategy for microcap companies
"The number one frustration I hear from OTC companies is 'no one is listening,'" said Seth Farbman, president, Vintage Filings. "That is exactly why PR Newswire and Vintage Filings have created Capital Markets Visibility 365, a new strategic outreach program that assures microcap companies a 12-month consistent presence in front of a highly targeted audience of institutional investors, individual investors and financial media."
A strategic and calendared marketing plan, Capital Market Visibility 365 is comprised of twelve integrated shareholder communication elements that simultaneously and directly engage Main Street, Wall Street and the financial media. Initially released in fall 2011, PR Newswire has further enhanced the distribution strength of this innovative 12-month communications program, including the newly announced integrating the de facto leader in financial-based social media, StockTwits.
"As you know, building a consistent presence with those three stakeholders is essential for a company's growth. Unique in our industry, Capital Markets Visibility 365 is a comprehensive solution that helps you engage these three essential stakeholders easily, simultaneously and affordably," finished Farbman.
John Viglotti, VP of Investor Relations Services at PR Newswire, discusses the program on a series of short videos.
Re-balancing IR with SEC compliance
"MicroCap companies are under continual pressure to cut expenses, but it is my opinion that many of the 'savings ideas' sold into investor relations departments' negatively affect what a company needs most – proactive exposure to find new investors," said Bradley H. Smith, Director of Marketing at PR Newswire. "Investor acquisition to advance shareholder value is the essential growth area for a public company."
"Our client discussions around re-balancing IR are actually conversations about IR marketing," continued Smith. "Simply, if you have ten dollars in your budget and need to grow your business, where do you spend those dollars? You spend the dollars on the #1 growth goal of finding new customers. You reduce or at least don't over-spend on services that don't advance growth."
In IR vernacular, the elements that companies need to re-balance include escalating IR website hosting fees, web disclosure vs. web exposure, as well as XBRL and SEC compliance costs. Looking at the total spend that affects IR, SEC regulations have burdened public companies to spend a disproportionate amount on compliance.
Smith is a proponent of reevaluating compliance spending and re-balancing the saved dollars into growth opportunities. PR Newswire acquired their own XBRL and SEC filing division in 2007 and the combined organization, PR Newswire – Vintage Filings is now the #1 XBRL and SEC filing newswire.
"Public companies must be compliant but it's important to consider that over-spending on compliance services, like XBRL, will not make you more compliant. However, investing more into exposure and targeting will help you engage more investors," finished Smith.
