Power Home Remodeling Group Named the #1 Best Workplace for Millennials in the U.S. by FORTUNE
One of the nation's largest exterior home remodelers ranks #1 due to mission-driven culture and record levels of employee engagement
CHESTER, Pa., June 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Home Remodeling Group is honored to announce that after surveying nearly 90,000 millennials, Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE have recognized the company as the #1 best workplace for millennials in the country. The inaugural "100 Best Workplaces for Millennials" ranking comes from an anonymous survey of Power's millennial employees administered by the workplace culture experts at Great Place to Work. In just 10 years, millennials will make up 75 percent of the workforce, and FORTUNE and Great Place to Work partnered on this ranking to recognize companies creating environments that appeal to and engage this unique generation of employees.
"We are enormously proud of this honor because it comes directly from our people — it is their feedback that secured our placement at the top of this prestigious list. This is a testament to the dedication of our people and their commitment to putting our values and mission into action every single day," said Asher Raphael, Power's Co-Chief Executive Officer.
Raphael added, "Research has shown that millennials are less confident in institutional organizations and while they remain entrepreneurial and financially motivated, they are equally concerned with the company culture wherein they operate, and the global impact of their organization's output. There is nothing more important to Power's success than having a culture that gives our people something to believe in — where they feel inspired by their work and have a sense of purpose, and feel valued for their hard work and contributions to our team and our customers."
As part of its ongoing efforts to create a mission-driven culture, Power provides employees with ongoing opportunities for growth in the form of leadership conferences across the country featuring celebrities and high-profile speakers in entertainment, sports, business and government, frequent opportunities to meet and socialize with senior leadership and a personal mentor to help guide, support and challenge them to achieve more. Additionally, Power places a great emphasis on serving and giving back to others, which is showcased by the company's national partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) to help raise money to eradicate childhood cancer. The company hosts a variety of fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including "Power Month for Alex's," a month-long initiative where Power employees truly devote themselves and become personally invested in ALSF's mission. Power also boasts an all-inclusive social program filled with ongoing perks, can't-miss events and an annual company-paid trip to Mexico to give employees a chance to develop a lasting camaraderie with their colleagues to bring their experience full circle.
"Companies focused on solid growth understand that it's critical for senior leaders to have an in-depth understanding of all their employees' experiences, regardless of their age, role in the organization, or any other demographic profile," says Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work United States. "Great workplaces are constantly monitoring and analyzing their employees' workplace experiences and then taking action to improve them. Ranking on this list is a great indicator that these companies' efforts to create great workplaces are resonating with millennials."
Power and the 99 other winning companies were selected based on the evaluations of nearly 90,000 millennial-aged employees who were surveyed using the Trust Index©, Great Place to Work's employee assessment survey that measures employee engagement by surveying employee opinions, attitudes and perceptions on the level of trust between colleagues and between management and employees. The 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials is part of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and FORTUNE based entirely on employee surveys from published Great Place to Work Reviews.
In addition to the FORTUNE 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials list, Power has received recognition from other influential organizations for its continued efforts around creating an unparalleled work environment for its people, both personally and professionally, including The Philadelphia Inquirer's #1 Top Midsized Company in 2015 and landing #25 on Glassdoor's list of Highest Rated CEOs for 2015.
