Poptent and Rumblefish Launch Poptent Soundtracks, Bringing Licensed Audio Tracks to 70,000 Video Producers
PHILADELPHIA and PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Poptent, the global leader in crowdsourced video production, and Rumblefish, the largest provider of soundtracks for social video, today announced that the two companies have partnered to create Poptent Soundtracks. Poptent Soundtracks gives Poptent's growing community of more than 70,000 filmmakers in 140 countries access to a custom-curated selection of the world's largest copyright-cleared soundtrack catalog of two million tracks, operated by Rumblefish on its Friendly Music soundtrack platform.
The new service specifically caters to Poptent community members, allowing them to include pre-licensed music soundtracks in any of their Poptent-sponsored video assignments and other projects for major brands and agencies worldwide. Poptent Soundtracks offers a complete suite of soundtrack search and recommendation tools, along with full access to a custom-curated catalog of music tailored expressly for Poptent's filmmakers. The integration of the Rumblefish catalog makes Poptent Soundtracks the most comprehensive soundtrack offering in the crowd-sourced video industry.
Poptent members can search by mood, occasion and numerous other parameters to find the right soundtrack for their video. Filmmakers pay only $1.99 per video for soundtrack inclusion. If their video is selected for use by the brand or agency, Poptent will cover the 5% production fee to Poptent Soundtracks. All music in Poptent Soundtracks is 100% pre-licensed and ready to use on-demand without cumbersome negotiations with record labels or lawyers.
"Now it's easier than ever for Poptent creators to find and use the perfect soundtrack for their work," said Nick Pahade, Poptent CEO. "Going forward, our filmmakers don't have to struggle with confusing and expensive licensing agreements directly with artists, record labels, publishers and composers. They also don't have to worry about falling in love with the perfect song only to learn that the music rights aren't available for their project."
"Poptent creates substantial opportunities for their filmmaking community and simplifies the production process for a group of talented filmmakers," said Paul Anthony, founder and CEO of Rumblefish. "Poptent Soundtracks is a big step forward for the platform and will delight filmmakers and brands alike with the highest quality, rights-cleared catalog available."
