PAUL, Minn., Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Point of Care Decision Support (PCDS), announced that Dr. Jennifer Glen, DNP, FNP-BC has been named Vice President, Clinical Services for the healthcare software company. Dr. Glen comes to her new role with over 15 years of healthcare experience in diverse settings including family medicine, emergency medicine and military medicine as an Army Officer. In her role as Vice President, Clinical Services, Dr. Glen is responsible for leading clinical services and training for Point of Care's Dynamic Decision Support Platform and its various modules dedicated to long-term chronic disease care and total patient health risk reduction. She will also spearhead innovative approaches enabling healthcare professionals to deliver improved clinical outcomes optimizing patient care.
Prior to joining PCDS, Dr. Glen has been a practicing doctorate prepared Nurse Practitioner with advanced education in healthcare leadership combined with evidence-based care, strategic planning and process improvement. Along with her role over the last two years as a Senior Clinical Consultant for PCDS, Dr. Glen has practiced as an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas; Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Kansas School of Nursing; Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner at Stormont-Vail/Via Christi Emergency Department in Manhattan, Kansas; and as a Major in the United States Army, Doctorate Family Nurse Practitioner at Ft. Riley Kansas. Dr. Glen also served as the Director of Outpatient Services for the 31st Combat Support Hospital, Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan.

Dr. Glen has a B.S. in Biology and Nursing. She also received her MS (FNP) Family Nurse Practitioner Degree, and in 2014, received her Doctorate (DNP) in Organizational Leadership from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is also a certified Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse. Dr. Glen is a frequent speaker and presenter on subjects including: outpatient point of care best practices, national trends impacting primary care quality and cost, as well as topics on cardiovascular disease guidelines and the current state of professional nursing, to name a few. Awards received from the U.S. Army include: Army Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal and the Army Surgeon General Provider APLSS Award.
