PLANO, Texas, March 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Pizza Hut, the Official Pizza of the NCAA, will close out March Madness and the Final Four® in a major way: giving fans the chance to score a pair of its coveted Pizza Hut Pie Tops sneakers, which were born in celebration of the NCAA College Basketball Tournament and Pizza Hut's commitment to providing the easiest pizza ordering and delivery experience possible.
NCAA fanatics, pizza lovers and sneakerheads alike can enter for a chance to win a pair of the Pie Tops by following Pizza Hut All-American, Jason Zone Fisher, as he celebrates the Final Four match-ups. Starting March 30, Jason will give a select number of the Pie Tops to fans both in Phoenix and those following his journey online. Follow Jason on Instagram and Twitter at @PHAllAmerican to find out how to score a pair.
Those watching the games from home also have the chance to get their hands on the sneakers through the Pizza Hut "Pie Tops Hunt." Starting April 3, Jason will take fans on a virtual "360 panoramic hunt" to spot a pair of the Pie Tops hidden in Phoenix Stadium. To participate and for Official Rules, visit PieTopsHunt.com.
"We had a feeling that people would get excited about getting their pizza at a press of a button, and we were blown away by the response the Pie Tops created," said David Daniels, Vice President, Media & Advertising, Pizza Hut. "Final Four weekend is the perfect time to give fans a chance to take their digital ordering experience to the next level – whether they're watching the games at home or are lucky enough to be there in-person."
Announced earlier this month with a new TV campaign starring March Madness legend, Grant Hill, the Pizza Hut Pie Tops are a custom-designed, first-of-its-kind basketball shoe that can order pizza for delivery at the press of a button. The sneakers are equipped with Bluetooth communication via a smart button inside the shoe tongue. The button connects the actual Pie Tops shoes to the user's phone and the Pie Tops app, allowing the user to press the button and instantly submit a pizza order.
For those who don't get their hands on a pair of Pie Tops, Pizza Hut offers a menu of easy ordering options, including the Pizza Hut app, mobile site, Facebook and Twitter messenger, Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Amazon Tap and Amazon Fire TV. Pizza orders placed via the Pizza Hut skill (command) for Alexa Voice Service from April 1-3 will receive a slam dunk deal of 40% off their order total.
Pizza lovers without Alexa can score a great deal by ordering a large two-topping pizza online for just $7.99 or any specialty pizza for just $3 more. Deal does not apply to other menu items, tax, delivery charge, or driver tip.
Pizza Hut offers a variety of ways to make digital ordering easier, including a re-order button, the option to choose from the most popular pizzas menu and social sign in for PizzaHut.com accounts. More information is available at www.PizzaHutAllAccess.com.
In 2016, Pizza Hut announced its multi-year partnership with the NCAA and launched the Pizza Hut All-American program, providing one fan the opportunity to attend every DI national championship. Fans can follow the journey of the winner, Jason Zone Fisher, on Instagram and Twitter at @PHAllAmerican.
