Pittsford Court Reporter Stephen Zinone is Elected to the Board of the National Court Reporters Association
VIENNA, Va., Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Members of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) have elected Stephen Zinone, an official court reporter from Pittsford, New York, to serve a three-year term on the organization's Board of Directors.
Zinone began working as a freelance court reporter in 1985 and, in 1989, went to work as a court reporter for the Monroe County District Attorney's office as a grand jury reporter. In 1997, he was hired to work for the Federal Court for the Western District of New York and in 2001, he moved to the New York State Unified Court System in the 7th and 8th Judicial Districts where he remains and is assigned to the Ontario County Courts. The term "official court reporter" typically is used to describe court reporters who work within a judicial setting while "freelance court reporters" most often work in a deposition setting.
Zinone has been a tireless advocate for the court reporting profession over the years, having served in multiple roles with NCRA to protect and advance the interests of the profession. Zinone also has served in multiple roles with the New York State Court Reporters Association Board of Directors and is currently its Immediate Past President. He holds the Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) designation.
