Gasparilla's music, performed as a Rock Opera tale, tells the story of the infamous pirate Gasparilla as he plunders the Gulf of Mexico and beyond.
The Legend
According to legend, Gasparilla was a notorious pirate falsely accused of thieving jewels from the Queen of Spain! History also places Gasparilla in the War of 1812, where he secretly aided the legendary Jean Lafitte by smuggling his secret stash of gunpowder right under the noses of the Brits who had New Orleans surrounded.
The Band
Led by the NYC singer/songwriter Donny Stew, the band unfolds a tale of intrigue while ripping it up with some amazing guitar and mandolin!
Drummer/vocalist RVZ says, "We go from reggae to rock to metal to acoustic ballads...we do it all for you!" Gasparilla's newest fans have already commented on his John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) playing style.
Peter Scance, featured on bass/vocals, also rocks out on acoustic guitars. Scance is best known for his work with the illustrious Meat Loaf.

History
This captivating Pirate Band began when Donny Stew was contacted by a DJ, Jocular Jack Harris of 970WFLA radio to write one of his City songs about Tampa Bay. Donny went from writing a single to composing an engaging 25 song Rock Opera which he stamped as "Gasparilla". The Gasparilla invasion begins in 2016 in Tampa Bay.
