KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America, launches a fresh brand identity, invigorating its commitment to providing drivers with the best experience on the road.
The initiative includes offering customers a variety of healthy food selections, a high-quality collection of hot beverage offerings and $100 million in facility upgrades. To kick off its new brand identity, Travel Well, a travel journey, will document various Pilot and Flying J customers as they hit the road for the holidays, embark on family road trips and more.
"Providing convenience, quality and outstanding customer service is the cornerstone of our mission," said Whitney Haslam Johnson, Director of Brand and Customer Experience at Pilot Flying J. "Our primary goal is to always serve our customers with excellence, so when they asked for upgrades to our facilities and healthier food options, we were happy to deliver."
Pilot Flying J provides healthier food choices for travelers by offering an expanded selection of meals and snacks. PJ Fresh Marketplaces at select locations feature fresh, healthy and high-quality meal options including home-style meatloaf and roasted chicken. Additionally, Pilot and Flying J locations feature coffeehouse-quality beverages, such as "The Best Coffee on the Interstate," in eight flavors including Brazilian and Hazelnut; cappuccino; iced coffee and hot chocolate.
Ongoing upgrades at more than 650 existing travel centers and travel plazas across the country drive an improved experience for customers. New restroom features include new tile finishes, low water consumption fixtures including toilets and faucets, touchless hand dryers and LED light fixtures aimed at providing a greater level of comfort during travel stops.
An additional tool the company offers to help make life on the road better for drivers is an app that helps oversee time management. The MyPilot app allows drivers to plan trips by displaying Pilot and Flying J locations between point A and point B on any driving route.
