CINCINNATI, May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Phillips Edison & Company ("PECO" or the "Company"), a fully integrated retail real estate company with a national platform of shopping centers, announced today it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Sonic Notify to become their first grocery-anchored shopping center partner to utilize beacon technology powered mobile marketing to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
The technology will be implemented at two of the Company's locations including Statler Square in Staunton, VA, which is anchored by Kroger, and La Plata Plaza in La Plata, MD, anchored by Target and Safeway. PECO will work with its retailers to provide promotions and community relevant information to shoppers who are utilizing the technology by downloading the application, which is available for all iOS and Android devices.
PECO's installation of Sonic's beacon technology in its grocery-anchored centers will enable retailers and advertising partners to immediately exchange personalized greetings, product suggestions, in-store discounts and coupons to consumers in specified locations.
