Philips introduces new teleICU enterprise software at ATA 2017, delivering seamless population health management technology to health systems

Improving clinical decision support in the eICU

Built to be source-agnostic, Philips eCareManager, a Class II FDA 510(k) medical device, will provide seamless clinical integration between the teleICU and bedside care teams to help promote proactive care and coordination, allowing quicker intervention for high risk patients. In a critical care environment where every second counts, the platform's clinical decision support algorithms and CensusMosaic, an enhanced organ-based visual layout and information display, are designed to save valuable time with a streamlined, single-screen view and upgraded entry process for improved data integrity.

The introduction of eCareManager 4.1 at ATA follows Philips' announcement earlier in the month spotlighting Emory Healthcare's successful implementation of Philips' eICU platform to reduce hospital stays and readmissions, resulting in an estimated savings of $4.6 million during a 15 month comparison period.¹ This news also demonstrates how Philips' population health management solutions are simultaneously helping health systems provide quality care to more patients while improving care outcomes.

Driving industry discussion demonstrating the power of population health

Philips' population health management solutions, including dozens of eICU programs currently serving patients across the USA, are designed to leverage a proactive and seamless model to clinically transform the delivery of care to address growing clinician shortages, while improving patient outcomes. Philips' eICU program supports the highest ratios of provider to patient population management for teleICUs and helps intensivists to monitor larger populations, increasing productivity while decreasing operational costs.²

Demonstrating its commitment to helping health systems transition to value-based care, Philips will spotlight its full suite of population health management solutions, including its enterprise telehealth, home monitoring and analytics solutions, at its booth at ATA (#913). Additionally, two Philips customers will discuss their successful applications of Philips' telehealth programs: Presence Health on its teleICU implementation and Specialized On-Site Care Management, Inc. around its ambulatory program.

• "Financial Flow Analysis through the Cost Acuity Pyramid Uncovers Opportunities for Cost Savings by Telehealth" Case Study Presentation Panel – Alison Orenstein, Product Manager at Philips Home Monitoring, will be joined by Stephen Agboola, MD, MPH, Associate Director of Research & Analytics, Connected Health Innovation at Partners HealthCare, and Mariana Simons-Nikolova, PhD, Philips Research, to discuss the results of a study assessing the use of predictive analytics in managing patient populations. The session will be held Monday, April 24, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in W331A.
