PERKS Expands to Bring New Employee Amenities to National Stage
Startups use annual event to create first B2B2C marketplace
BOSTON, Feb. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The PERKS Convention, or 'PERKS', is expanding from a local Boston-area showcase of unique and inexpensive office and employee amenities to a national-level convention in 2018. Founded by startup executives frustrated by lack of channel awareness for their employer-focused startups, PERKS graduates to the Hynes Convention Center in May to showcase more employee-focused services and products from across the U.S.
"Quite simply, our organization has used PERKS ideas to bring our workforce opportunities to simplify or make their lives more convenient. By offering new solutions such as on-site eye exams, grocery-store mobile savings, or any other PERK, they're hearing through our actions that we recognize their talents and want to improve staff well-being," said Robin Antonellis, VP of Human Resources for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, an annual attendee of the PERKS Convention.
Since 2014, PERKS has attracted thousands of benefits, HR, and employee engagement professionals from all over New England. PERKS has used a conventional tradeshow-style model with some unconventional tactics to grow the event year-over-year and attract New England's best employers. With rising demand for competitive offerings from Boston-area employers and surrounding states, PERKS has focused on expanding their marketplace of great employee services attracting services based in San Francisco, New York, Chicago and beyond.
"We're really creating the first marketing experience for 'B2B2C' businesses. This is a new category of companies looking to benefit employees by working through their employers and it's exploding," says Co-Creator, Alexa Baggio.
PERKS showcases a range of unique offerings focused mainly in five categories: food & beverage, facilities, convenience, engagement and wellness. PERKS attendees can experience each service personally during the event (manicures, massages, and more) and learn more about each PERK in a more meaningful way than traditional sales phone calls allow. There's music and a happy hour to boot making it a truly unique environment. Services showcased include:
- Preventative healthcare services
- Innovative office supplies and furnishings
- Onsite and online convenience offerings
- Team bonding and group experiences
- Employee engagement tools and platforms
- Cost-savings and home-life support products
About PERKS: PERKS is a national tradeshow and community dedicated to service and amenity discovery for employers. The convention takes place on May 9th, 2018 and registration is now open at www.perkscon.com.
