Union Pacific Corporation Research Reports
On August 14, 2014, Union Pacific Corporation (Union Pacific) reported that its principal operating company, Union Pacific Railroad has achieved record low 2.95 reportable rail equipment incident rates for H1 2014 as compared to 3.07 reportable rail equipment incident rate in H1 2013. Rail equipment incident rate is measured by taking into account the number of reportable derailments per million train miles. During the last decade, the Company had invested c.$30 billion to strengthen its infrastructure and reduce its derailments by 23%. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Research Reports
On August 14, 2014, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (Wal-Mart) reported its Q2 FY 2015 and H1 FY 2015 financial results (period ended July 31, 2014). The consolidated net sales for the quarter were $119.3 billion, up 2.8% YoY and the net sales for H1 FY 2015 were reported as $233.5 billion, up 1.8% YoY. The net income attributable in Q2 FY 2015 surged 0.6% YoY to $4.1 billion with a diluted EPS of $1.26. Meanwhile, the net income for H1 FY 2015 was $7.7 billion, down 2.1% YoY, with a diluted EPS of $2.37. On segmental basis, operating income from Walmart U.S. fell 2.4% YoY to $5.2 billion, while the Walmart International's operating income witnessed a surge of 8.0% to $1.5 billion. Wal-Mart now expects FY 2015 EPS to range between $4.90 and $5.15, against the previous estimate of $5.10 to $5.45, which includes Q3 FY 2015 EPS guidance of $1.10 to $1.20. Starbucks Corporation Research Reports
On August 18, 2014, Starbucks Corporation (Starbucks) reported that it will test mobile trucks at three colleges' campuses in 2014 fall, offering a menu of drinks and snacks. The Company informed that the Starbucks mobile truck can move to various locations on campus throughout the day, making it convenient for students and faculty to grab a snack or beverage. The mobile truck is an extension of partnership between Aramark and Starbucks and is licensed to operate through Aramark.
