As part of the nomination, NBJ requires a written testimonial of no more than 1,000 words explaining why the company, person or product should receive a specific award. All nominations should describe distinguishing achievements such as: a company's revenue growth, profitability gains or turnaround; the science and technology backing new nutrition products; company's successful entry into new sales channels, market segments or geographic areas; noteworthy management initiatives; successful consumer education initiatives; and diversification, acquisition or integration achievements.

The winners will appear in NBJ's Annual Executive Review & Awards issue in January 2014 and will be honored at an awards ceremony during the 2014 NBJ Summit.
