Chester Community Charter School (CCCS), the largest K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania, will host its 11th Annual Parents Appreciation Dinner for approximately 200 parents and guardians, who took part in the school's "Parent Report Card" program, this year, and received the highest marks from the school's teachers. The program measures and rewards parent participation in the academic success and involvement in students' education. Evaluated by their children's teachers, parents and guardians are graded based on the following criteria: activity in CCCS' Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and their children's completion of homework, attendance record, compliance with the school's dress code, and satisfactory behavior. This year's event will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Clarion Hotel, in Essington, PA. |
CCCS CEO Dr. David Clark says, "Our students are the success stories, but it begins with the parents, and their commitment to the children. Oftentimes, parent participation in schools is dismal; our program, however, sets Chester Community Charter School apart, and encourages parents and guardians to become more involved. The Parent Report Card Program also keeps them in constant contact with their child's teacher." He continued, "This program is fundamental to our school's success, and is truly appreciated by faculty, staff, and administrators. When parents support CCCS' mission, and a quality working relationship is built and maintained, our students are empowered to excel." |

Attending parents and guardians have an opportunity to win prizes, during a raffle drawing, including items such as electronic devices, gift baskets, gift cards, and the grand prize, a trip to Disney World. |
