PEMCO Welcomes "Flawless Firewood Stacker," "Portland Food Cartlandian" To Beloved "We're A Lot Like You" Campaign
New profiles launch partnership with Northwest-based Mountains to Sound Greenway
SEATTLE, Feb. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PEMCO Insurance is putting down roots – literally. The Northwest's largest locally based personal-lines insurer has launched a tree-planting partnership to encourage Northwest forest conservation, and to introduce five new Northwest Profiles to the company's popular "We're A Lot Like You. A Little Different." ad campaign.
Among the set of new profiles is Northwest Profile #48: Flawless Firewood Stacker – a recognizable Northwest neighbor whose meticulously stacked firewood is a "sustainable commodity that will keep his humble home toasty for at least a year's worth of chilly Northwest nights."
To introduce Flawless Firewood Stacker, PEMCO Insurance has partnered with Seattle-based Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, challenging fans of PEMCO's campaign to submit a photo of their own flawlessly stacked firewood to PEMCO's Facebook page. For each photo submitted through February 15, PEMCO pledges to plant a tree in the 1.5 million acre Greenway maintained by friends and volunteers of the Mountains to Sound Greenway.
"One of the fun things about this campaign is the way it allows people across the Northwest to see themselves, and our shared values, in lighthearted caricatures that we think are true to this corner of the country," said PEMCO Insurance spokesperson Jon Osterberg. "We're glad to partner with the Mountains to Sound Greenway to celebrate some of those shared values, and we admire the important environmental work they do here in the Northwest."
Joining Flawless Firewood Stacker are four additional regionally inspired Northwest Profiles.
For the first time since the "We're A Lot like You." campaign launched in 2007, PEMCO has dedicated one of its Northwest profiles to a well-known Portland, Ore., phenomenon. Northwest Profile #35: Portland Food Cartlandian celebrates Portland's gourmet food cart "culinary mecca" where avid and amateur cyclists stop for mid-ride hi-performance nutrition from the city's most loved mobile food trucks.
Northwest Profile #72: Year-Round Shorts Duuude! is surely someone known by many Northwesterners. In his opinion, common sense and good taste are nothing compared to freedom. He's always rocking shorts so he's always ready to rock. Be it a surprise concert, pickup basketball game, or uncharted swimming hole, when pants say "no," shorts say "go!"
I Never Jaywalker is Northwest Profile #7. Risky is none of her business. So gambling with safety isn't going to happen. She's spotted waiting for the signal to change, preferring to arrive fashionably late than not at all.
Last but not least is Northwest Profile# 86: Varmint Relocation Specialist. For him, it seems like every year a new band of four-legged gypsies shows up on his property looking for a handout. He wants to protect his home, but he wouldn't hurt a fly. So compromise means relocation, which 10 out of 10 raccoons recommend over other means of removal.
