ATLANTA, Oct. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Page Perry, LLC announced today that partner Pat Huddleston has decided to return to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") as Senior Trial Counsel. Huddleston, who has long been an advocate of investor protection and investor rights, founded Investor's Watchdog LLC and authored the book The Vigilant Investor that The Wall Street Journal called "a fascinating and valuable read."
"Investigating and bringing violators to justice has been in my blood since my first year at the SEC," said Huddleston. "While I enjoyed private practice and writing my book, I have come to realize that my real passion is prosecuting financial scamsters and protecting the public as a whole. Thus, when this opportunity arose, it was too good to turn down. I look forward to working with the SEC's accomplished team of trial attorneys in pursuing these goals."
Huddleston went on to say "My only regret is I won't be working day-in and day-out with the lawyers and staff at Page Perry. In a real sense, the niche practice of representing investors began here when Boyd Page began representing investors back in the 1980s. It has been a true privilege to work with him and the outstanding team of investor advocates at Page Perry."
Page Perry, LLC will assume control of popular investor protection blog Investor's Watchblog (www.investorswatchblog.com). In 2008, Huddleston launched this investor protection blog which covered breaking investment scams worldwide and offered guidance on how to recognize the subtler clues of a fraud in progress. "There is no group of people that I would sooner trust with protecting investors through Investor's Watchblog," Huddleston stated.
J. Boyd Page, senior partner of Page Perry, stated, "Of course, we regret losing an outstanding investor advocate like Pat Huddleston but we understand his decision to focus on eradicating fraud in the investment markets on a broader scale. The SEC is getting back a jewel. In this time of so many abuses in the financial markets, investors everywhere will be well served."
