The riveting docu-series explores the lives of a new breed of artists, creative entrepreneurs and dreamers in Detroit, fighting to thrive and survive in a city many have given up on.

Motor City Rising shines the spotlight on a few of Detroit's enterprising, ingenious locals as they pursue their dreams, hang on to hope and realize their city's true potential.
Detroit, which is one of the top cities in the country for creativity, is evolving and some of the creatives featured in the series include Sean Forbes, a deaf rapper and founder of the Deaf Professional Arts Network; Treger Strasberg, co-founder of Humble Design, which rescues discarded furniture to assist families from homeless/abuse shelters; artist and performer Nina Friday, who fled Russia and chose to settle in Detroit; Kyle Kentala, a DJ, who is referred to as the "Mayor of the Detroit Underground Scene"; Veronika Scott, a design student who invented a coat for the homeless, which turns into a sleeping bag; and Anthony Salinger, a young comic, battling cancer.
