Ovation Enters the Digital Publishing Business with the Launch of CulturePOP
New Website to Focus on Providing "Ingredients for an Artful Life"
CulturePOP Launches with Sweepstakes for an Artful Trip to Miami
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Ovation, the only television network devoted to art and contemporary culture, is venturing outside the television arena and into the digital publishing business with the launch of CulturePOP, a website aimed at bringing art and culture into readers' everyday lives. CulturePOP is launching today at www.CulturePOP.com and is offering subscribers a chance to win an artful trip to Miami. Subscription to CulturePOP is free.
"CulturePOP is a place where art and mainstream culture intersect. Readers can learn more about art and lifestyle trends and how to bring artful things into their own lives," notes Chad Gutstein, Executive Vice President, Ovation. "With the launch of this new digital product, Ovation is able to serve the substantial part of our audience that is looking for practical, consumer-based information while staying true to our mission of making art accessible to all."
CulturePOP's editorial focus will include inspired recommendations and ideas from today's leading cultural thinkers on the topics of art + design, style, home and food. Stories will often be paired with a related special offer, giveaway or sweepstakes. Current stories include an interview with new W Magazine editor Stefano Tonchi and a special offer on W Magazine, and an interview with Michael Symon, a James Beard Foundation Award-winning American chef, for his tips for how to prepare an artful barbecue, which is featured together with a special offer from The BBQ Store. CulturePOP is also featuring a special "Fashion Week" interview with designer Zang Toi.
CulturePOP has retained editorial consultant Sabrina Weill to oversee the content. Weill is a former editor-in-chief of Seventeen and was instrumental in the launch of CosmoGIRL! magazine, where she served as founding executive editor for four years. Previously, Weill was an editor at Redbook and editor-in-chief of the Scholastic teen health magazine Choices.
"CulturePOP deals offer readers tangible ways to bring artfully designed products into their lives, every day," says Sabrina Weill. "CulturePOP finds the art in everything, and features exclusive interviews with the artists -- filmmakers, stylists, chefs, musicians, designers -- who are creating today's pop culture conversations."
This month, CP is inviting new subscribers to enter to win a trip to Miami. CP writers will customize the trip, providing the winner with an insider's view into Miami's rich cultural past, present and future. The winner will receive roundtrip airfare for two to Miami, two nights at the stylish Mondrian South Beach hotel, lunch for two at Asia de Cuba, daily use of a private pool cabana at the Mondian South Beach and a specially curated tour of Miami's hottest galleries and museums.
