Tweet2Lease Will Give One Lucky Winner a Day of Wienermobile Rides
MADISON, Wis., Jan. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time ever, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is available for "lease", through Twitter; this is the first time ever a vehicle of any kind is available for lease exclusively through Twitter.
Beginning today, fans can enter for a chance to "lease" the iconic hot dog on wheels for an eight hour day by tweeting with the hashtag #Tweet2Lease. One lucky winner will receive hands-on access to the Wienermobile, with the vehicle's drivers, known as Hotdoggers, serving as personal chauffeurs.
"Being the first car available for lease exclusively on Twitter was far too big a distinction to go to any old sedan or sport-utility vehicle," said Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer. "Only a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels, the Wienermobile, would do."
The promotion will be a supported by a Wienermobile "car commercial" that will be posted to the Oscar Mayer YouTube channel and promoted through paid advertising placements, social-media seeding and public-relations efforts. http://bit.ly/1cVIvns
The Tweet2Lease sweepstakes will run through February 7, 2014, when the folks behind the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will select a winner at random and contact them to coordinate a "lease" date.
