COLUMBIA, Mo., Jan. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Billings, MT-based Ortho Montana has chosen to partner with OBERD to electronically collect patient-reported health outcomes data. Through this partnership, Ortho Montana will have access to OBERD's Musculoskeletal and Quality of Life Registries to collect patient-reported outcomes data and compare outcomes across nationwide data sets with the goal of providing evidence-based care and improving patient outcomes. Additionally, Ortho Montana will facilitate data sharing and collaboration among Yellowstone Ambulatory Surgery Center and St. Vincent Healthcare as part of a care collaboration among the three institutions.
Ortho Montana's commitment to provide the highest quality orthopaedic care aligns with OBERD's expertise in orthopaedic outcomes data collection. OBERD's Registries provide large datasets for benchmarking, research, and quality improvement initiatives. Its family of musculoskeletal registries has been established based on procedure, under specific platforms including: hip and knee; hand and wrist; foot and ankle; spine; and sports medicine.
"Our goal is to improve the function and quality of life of each patient with the least invasive and conservative approach that provides the best outcome," said Roy Strong, CEO of Ortho Montana. "To reach this goal, the medical team at Ortho Montana enlists in an all-encompassing approach to the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. OBERD plays a key role in this approach by providing our physicians with actionable outcomes data as standard of care."
Ortho Montana will use OBERD to achieve the following institutional goals:
- Utilize benchmarking to ensure patients are recovering effectively in comparison to national norms
- Improve outcomes and the overall patient experience by leveraging data for evidence-based care
- Conduct outcomes-based research for presentation and publication
"We are delighted to welcome Ortho Montana to the OBERD community, and to have them contribute data to the world's largest orthopaedic outcomes database," said Andrew Clement, Chief Commercial Officer. "By integrating with their Greenway Intergy platform, OBERD will automate the process, enabling outcomes data collection with minimal staff intervention."
