EDISON, N.J., Nov. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- To further strengthen its successful medical device and life sciences RA/QA practice team, Oriel STAT A MATRIX announces the appointment of Pete Gonzalez as Vice President of Business Development, Medical Device and Life Sciences Practice.
In his new position, Mr. Gonzalez will share responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of domestic and international business development for Oriel STAT A MATRIX's life sciences quality and regulatory consulting, auditing, and training solutions. He will focus on serving clients in the medical device, in vitro diagnostic device, pharmaceutical, combination device, and biotechnology industry sectors.

Mr. Gonzalez joins Oriel STAT A MATRIX from SGS North America, where he was Business Development Manager and Auditor for the company's healthcare and life sciences division. He has over 30 years of experience in quality, regulatory affairs, clinical affairs, auditing, operations, and business development in the medical device, in vitro medical device, and biotechnology industries. He has worked extensively with Notified Bodies, European Competent Authorities, Health Canada, US FDA, and other global regulatory bodies in a wide variety of capacities. In addition to his most recent position at SGS, Mr. Gonzalez has worked with TUV SUD/America/Product Service, LRQA, TUV Rheinland, Gen-Probe, Smith & Nephew (DonJoy Orthopedics), Sulzer Medica (Calcitek), Regulatory Technology Services, and Provasis Therapeutics.
Mr. Gonzalez has a BA in business administration and an MBA in international business. He also holds industry credentials and certifications in regulatory affairs, quality auditing, engineering and management, and clinical trials design and management.
