Amazon's FBA is a service that lets small businesses rent out sections inside an Amazon warehouse to store inventory and ship orders. As orders are placed on the user's website, Ordoro automatically extracts and routes those orders to the Amazon warehouse based on sophisticated business rules. Amazon charges the user a small per order fee and storage fees, and Amazon's warehouse robots pick, pack and ship the orders using their low negotiated shipping rates.
"Ordoro's integration with Amazon FBA makes perfect sense for small businesses. Basically, you are outsourcing your warehouse operations to one of the best warehousing vendors in the world. And, on top of that, you are saving money on shipping because you get Amazon's low shipping rates to ship your orders." - said Jagath Narayan, the co-founder and CEO of Ordoro.
When you buy something from the Amazon.com marketplace, you probably are buying it from one of the 2 million third party sellers who have listed their products there. The number of third party sellers on the Amazon marketplace has doubled since 2007. The FBA service further expands Amazon's reach to third party sellers on the order fulfillment side. FBA is comprised of 89 fulfillment centers within Amazon's massive distribution network that covers customers in 178 countries. The program has been extremely successful, and 97% of sellers who use the service indicated that their sales have increased after joining FBA.
Ordoro provides a unified web-based dashboard for multi-channel online retailers to easily manage their orders, and keep inventory in sync across all sales channels. Existing integrations with selling platforms like Shopify, Bigcommerce and eBay, plus all major shippers including USPS, UPS, and FedEx makes Ordoro the hub of back-office operations for many online retailers. This new integration with Amazon FBA further expands Ordoro's market to small businesses that are interested in Amazon's fulfillment services. Founded in 2010, Ordoro has raised $1.8M in venture funding and says their customers have processed $47m worth of order transactions and printed $28m worth of shipping labels across USPS, Fedex and UPS.
