BOCA RATON, Fla., Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Orangetheory® Fitness, the scientifically backed and fast-growing fitness franchise, announced today Gregg Koffler has joined the company as chief development officer. Bringing over a decade of experience in the franchising industry, Koffler will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic expansion efforts to grow the brand's presence domestically and assist the fitness franchise in achieving its goal of having 900 studios open by the end of 2017.
"Orangetheory Fitness has experienced tremendous growth since our inception in 2010, and we have no doubt that the wealth of knowledge and expertise Gregg brings to the table will be a huge asset in accelerating this momentum and propelling orange nation's presence nationwide," said Dave Long, chief executive officer of Orangetheory Fitness. "In a few short years, Orangetheory Fitness has transformed into one of the world's top fitness franchises, and while we're proud of what we've achieved, we know that there is still unlimited potential for the future. Gregg has an impressive record of driving exceptional results, and we are confident that this addition to our executive team will help to further propel the brand to new heights in 2017 and beyond."
An avid Orangetheory Fitness member himself, Koffler will relocate from Phoenix, Arizona to the company's expansive new corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida to join the executive team. In his new role as chief development officer, he will be responsible for overseeing the brand's franchise development efforts in addition to supervising the sales, real estate, design, construction and supply chain teams and processes. Prior to joining Orangetheory Fitness, Koffler spent more than a decade leading development efforts for several major industry leaders, including Smash Burger, Corner Bakery Cafe and Wyndham Hotel Group.
"The sheer trajectory and rate of Orangetheory Fitness' explosive growth was unlike anything I have witnessed in the franchising industry, and sparked my interest in joining this one-of-a-kind concept that has developed such a passionate following from consumers all over the world," said Koffler. "Since coming onboard, I've witnessed firsthand how the driving force behind the brand's compounding success is the corporate team's tremendous leadership, as well as the true passion the franchisees, coaches and support staff have for the brand. I truly believe the sky is the limit for Orangetheory Fitness, and look forward to helping drive its presence in communities nationwide."
In addition to onboarding their new chief development officer, 2017 marks a significant development milestone year for Orangetheory Fitness as a brand overall. In March the company announced the signing of their 1,000th franchise agreement in addition to signing a master franchise agreement to develop 70 studios throughout the United Kingdom over the next 10 years. As a result, the workout is now performed more than 3 million times a month by more than 400,000 members worldwide. The brand will be celebrating the grand opening of their new corporate headquarters located in Boca Raton, Florida in late August, a move compelled by the tremendous growth of the corporate team, from 35 to nearly 300 employees in the past three years.
Orangetheory Fitness launched its first studio in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. in March 2010, and has transformed into one of the world's top fitness franchises, with more than 730 studios in 45 states and 16 countries. The 60-minute, five zone heart-rate monitored interval training concept has helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet their overall fitness goals in a short amount of time.
