Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Celebrates Grand Opening Of First North Dakota Store in Bismarck
BISMARCK, N.D., June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, America's fastest-growing froyo concept1, will host a grand opening celebration on Friday, June 6 located at 1515 Burnt Boat Drive in Bismarck. A percentage of all sales from the store on June 6 and 7 will be donated to the Bismarck Cancer Center. The Bismarck store is the first Orange Leaf frozen dessert franchise to open in North Dakota with a potential for more statewide.
Customers will be able to create their own frozen yogurt treats by choosing from an average of 16 flavors on rotation including no-sugar-added, gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options. The flavors are blended in proprietary machines that create a richer and creamier product than other froyo brands. Customers can then personalize their desserts by mixing, swirling, dividing flavors and adding any combination of toppings including candy, fruit, nuts, and other options from the do-it-yourself toppings bar. Customers are able to control their portion size and nutritional value to fit their dietary needs and taste preferences.
Flavors are subject to change and vary by location, so customers are encouraged to check their store's web page, check out their Facebook page, or download Orange Leaf's iPhone or Android app, to check which flavors are available before they visit their local store.
"We are thrilled to open this location in North Dakota, making it the 39th state in which Orange Leaf now operates," said Reese Travis, CEO of Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt. "With a proven business leader like Dale Gossett at the helm, we are confident North Dakota will be as successful as all of our other locations."
Gossett, who was born and raised in Bismarck, will operate the location with his wife Cathy and daughter Janelle Bortke and her husband Paul. Gossett has developed and operated the Taco Johns franchises in the state for more than 20 years.
"The experience of owning and operating Taco Johns has taught me how all the right ingredients – from product to marketing to customer service – must come together to create a successful business. After reviewing a number of other concepts, I believe Orange Leaf has the right mix of everything."
Currently Orange Leaf has more than 200 franchisees and is adding new ones continually with almost 70 percent of stores currently under construction built by existing franchisees. Compared to peers, Orange Leaf's up-front franchise fees are roughly half to a third the cost and about half of what they charge for ongoing royalty fees. Orange Leaf combines an experienced franchise sales organization and compelling unit economics with a commissary model to drive a strong profitability profile and scale.
