Orange County, NY and Mo'mix Solutions Deliver Business Intelligence Success
Mo'mix Performance Center for Public Sector saves the County est. $200,000 annually
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- County Executive Edward Diana and the Office of Information Technology, in collaboration with Mo'mix Solutions, its Public Sector Business Intelligence Software provider and consulting team, today announced the successful implementation of four modules of the Mo'mix Performance Center for Public Sector Business Intelligence and Reporting System (pat. pend). This cloud-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution is integrated to the Oracle E-Business Suite applications and enhances both internal and external transparency in Public Sector organizations for Executives, Staff, and Stakeholders. With countywide deployment, county employees now have accurate and accessible reports and historical data analysis capabilities for Financial Reporting, Projects & Grants, Procurement, and Human Capital Management (HCM) Reporting.
Mo'mix Solutions helps public sector and higher education organizations improve operational performance and efficiency by leveraging their ERP technology solutions to meet business objectives. As part of a multi-year project that included the implementation of the Oracle E-Business Suite for business management, Mo'mix Solutions worked with the County to achieve their enterprise wide goals and objectives for utilizing technology to streamline business processes and provide accessibility to meaningful data for decision-making.
"With Oracle E-Business Suite and Mo'mix Performance Center in place, the County now has an integrated Business and Reporting system that offers both mobile and desktop capabilities and provides us with the ability to better manage fiscal performance, project and grant expenditures to better serve our constituents," said Edward A. Diana, County Executive.
Richard Mayfield, Director of Operations and Acting IT Commissioner, noted, "The County has already realized significant productivity improvements since the implementation of Performance Center. In the time period from January to May alone, over 52 staff days have been saved plus more than 62 days from external consultants, an estimated preliminary savings of more than $200,000 per year. With 70% to 80% of corporate business intelligence projects considered failures, an ROI of this magnitude demonstrates that government business intelligence projects can deliver measurable success."
Because Performance Center is delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS) model, implementing a completely new reporting and analytics system had absolutely no impact on IT infrastructure costs. In addition, providing access to a secure, online environment for reporting supports the New York Comptroller's Green Initiative by reducing the need for paper printing of reports.
"Public Sector organizations are facing budget cut backs and many are utilizing technology solutions to consolidate data into one enterprise reporting tool. A single 'source of truth' can facilitate measurement of the progress of programs and result in better decisions regarding funding of new and existing projects, while creating an environment of Financial Transparency both internally and externally," said Stephanie Dalton, Vice President of Delivery at Mo'mix Solutions.
