Oprah Winfrey Revealed As Celebrity Americans Most Want To Work For In Hallmark eCards/Kelton Global "National Boss's Day" Survey
Survey also Reveals What Employees Are Dying to Tell Their Boss.
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hallmark eCards and Kelton today announced findings from a new survey that uncovered what employees might want to tell their bosses in time for National Boss's Day. As part of the study, employees were asked what sentiments they would most like to share with their boss, which celebrity they would most like to have as a boss, and when they think it's appropriate to send an eCard in the workplace. Oprah Winfrey is America's most desired celebrity boss (25% or 60 million Americans), with Michelle Obama coming in second (17% or 41 million Americans).* Additionally, nearly half (46%) of Americans would like to express gratitude to their boss, by saying "Thank you" or "I'm grateful for your mentorship." Three in ten (30%) wish to say "I'd like a raise."

- "Stop taking credit for my work" (9%)
- "I'm smarter than you" (6%)
- "Please don't fire me" (5%)

Other findings from the survey:
- Powerful women beat well-known men as the most desired bosses, with the women on the celebrity list claiming 58% of the vote and men claiming 42%. Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama came out on top and earned 43% of the combined vote.
- Digital greeting cards such as Hallmark eCards are widely seen as appropriate to give or send in the workplace. Over one-third are apt to give a coworker an eCard on workplace specific holidays such as Administrative Professionals Day (37%) or National Boss's Day (36%).
Methodology
The Hallmark eCards National Boss's Day Survey was conducted between September 12 and September 18, 2014 among 1,024 nationally representative Americans ages 18 and over. Quotas were set to ensure reliable and accurate representation of the entire U.S. population ages 18 and over. In this particular study, the chances are 95 in 100 that a survey result does not vary, plus or minus, by more than 3.1 percentage points from the result that would be obtained if interviews had been conducted with all personas in the universe represented by the sample.
