ONPATH Connectivity and Monitoring Solutions Approved by the U.S. Department of Defense

MARLTON, N.J., May 30, 2012  /PRNewswire/ -- ONPATH Technologies, the leader in scalable connectivity and monitoring solutions for high performance networks, today announced that the United States Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded ONPATH a Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification for its Universal Connectivity System (UCS) 2900 platform. This means that the UCS 2900 meets all interoperability, reliability, resilience, and security requirements of the DoD multi-vendor network as a Fixed Network Element (F-NE). The UCS 2900 will appear on the DoD Approved Product Vendor List (APL), simplifying the procurement process for government agencies.

The JITC has certified the 2900 for deployment in the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) to provide connectivity between legacy serial data, video, and voice services over Ethernet, Synchronous Optical Networking (SONET), Fiber Channel, and Wide Area Networks, and provide remote switching for working devices to preconfigured backup devices during maintenance or failures. Testing by the JITC provides a thorough representation of a product's ability to provide protocol compliance, stability, scalability, management, and security to DoD networks.

ONPATH received an Interoperability Assessment and a Standards Conformance certification, which the JITC awarded for the UCS 2900 platform on May 14, 2012. The security testing was performed by Defense Information System Agency (DISA)-led Information Assurance teams. The Interoperability Testing was conducted by the Joint Information Test Command (JITC) Global Information Grid Network Test Facility.
