One year after the fires, Sonoma County composer writes beautiful ode to his area: "Sonoma County, That's My Paradise!"
Song lifting spirits for residents on the one year anniversary of the wildfires
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --
Some just like to travel
A new place each year
But why go on vacation,
I'm happy here
Just loving that sweet wine country life
Sonoma County, That's My Paradise!
From Sonoma Country, That's My Paradise! by David Benjamin Gruenbaum
"We live in the most beautiful area of the world and I wanted to write a song that demonstrates our gorgeous county and community strength," says David Benjamin Gruenbaum, the composer of Sonoma County, That's My Paradise!
Gruenbaum already has a YouTube hit with I Love Santa Rosa, which was released just after the October 8th, 2017 fire. "Many Sonoma County families have contacted me to let me know how much the song has lifted their spirits. But the response has even more far-reaching: I have even received emails from as far away as Boston and Paris, telling me that they would like to travel to Sonoma County, 'to paradise'," says Gruenbaum.
The YouTube video of Sonoma County, That's My Paradise! has many memorable photos and musical moments, but people seem to be glomming onto the middle of the video where all 38 cities/towns in Sonoma County are immortalized in a rapid-fire slideshow.
"It's a tricky balancing act for Sonoma County residents," says Gruenbaum. "We must remember what happened, thank those who saved us, help those in our community who need us, and simultaneously say, 'Hey world, Sonoma County's back. Come visit us!'"
Both Sonoma County, That's My Paradise! and I Love Santa Rosa are produced by Ed Goldfarb, the composer for Pokemon TV shows and movies. "Working with someone as talented and famous as Ed Goldfarb is a dream. Ed makes all of my songs that much better," says Gruenbaum.
Gruenbaum has been a resident of Santa Rosa for fourteen years. In addition to being a composer, Gruenbaum is one of the country's top SAT/ACT tutors and, along with his wife, Heather, owns Ahead Of The Class (www.aheadoftheclass.com). He has been featured on top TV shows such as CBS Early Show and Fox National News.
Ahead Of The Class and David Benjamin Gruenbaum are working with children's choirs throughout Sonoma County to perform I Love Santa Rosa and Sonoma County That's My Paradise!
Gruenbaum will soon be releasing Sonoma County, That's My Paradise! as an online download. I Love Santa Rosa is already available on iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby. "All profits that I receive for both songs will be donated to charity," says Gruenbaum.
