NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EY Engage™, a new and innovative web-based application that provides on-demand staffing, is now available to clients of Ernst & Young LLP in the United States for their short-term tax staffing needs. Clients who need routine support can request and receive a virtual tax resource in as little as 30 seconds, an unprecedented level of responsiveness for the industry.
"EY Engage works by connecting clients who have short-term tax tasks with EY staff who have availability," said Art Claybon, a Venture Lead in the Americas Tax Innovation Foundry who runs the service. "Clients can log on from any Internet-connected device, post a job in seconds, and be matched quickly to the right EY staff, in near real-time."
More than 12,000 EY personnel are registered on the application, and more than 4,000 jobs have been posted since its launch in 2016, totaling more than 11,000 hours of work. Upon job completion, clients are asked to rate their satisfaction on a scale from one to five stars.
"The average job rating is 4.8 out of 5," said Steve Mangan, the EY Tax partner who devised the concept. "People love the idea."
EY Engage™ is currently poised to expand worldwide, taking full advantage of global trends in mobile device usage and jobseeker preferences as exemplified by growth in the gig economy.
"Our clients now have access 24 hours a day to the same talent who work on our regular engagements, enabling EY Tax to offer the right people at the moment our clients need them," said Kate Barton, EY Americas Vice Chair of Tax Services. "EY Engage has already been proven effective as a breakthrough system within the EY network and in client pilots to match available talent to short-term needs."
"I'm proud of this latest digital tax offering, which is just one of many new platforms to assist our clients globally," said Jeff Saviano, EY Global Tax Innovation Leader. "EY Engage will revolutionize the service provider/client experience leveraging a mobile enabled on-demand digital platform."
"This is a win-win-win," said Chirag Patel, leader of EY Americas Tax Innovation Foundry, a new innovation group specifically tasked with developing and launching new digital tax businesses for the EY organization. "Clients have access to qualified talent who have the right experience to complete specific jobs quickly and efficiently – without needing to hire longer-term employees or contractors. EY professionals can expand their team on behalf of their clients during crunch times, which is particularly important during tax filing seasons. And EY tax professionals are exposed to new opportunities that enable them to build their relationships, reputation, and career."
