Ogilvy Public Relations New York Adds Two New Hires to its Consumer Marketing Practice
NEW YORK, Jan. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, is pleased to welcome Alyssa Garnick and Tori Rappold to its New York headquarters in the office's consumer marketing practice.
Garnick joins as Executive Vice President, head of the New York Consumer Marketing practice bringing with her fifteen years of experience in brand marketing. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Garnick was a Senior Vice President/ Group Manager at Ketchum where she worked across brands including Philips, IKEA, Hertz, Cadbury and Chase and was responsible for building and leading the Lifestyle group. Her additional agency experience includes Burson-Marsteller and Edelman.
Garnick has won more than ten of our industry's most prestigious awards, including categories such as Best Use of Digital and New Media, Corporate Branding, Event Marketing and Campaign of the Year for her work on IKEA, Coca-Cola and for programs with Johnson & Johnson and Unilever products. In addition, she was also named to PRWeek's 2009 "Top 40 Under 40" list. She has a bachelor of arts degree in English from University of Vermont, is an active member of their regional Alumni Board mentoring recent graduates starting their careers in PR, and spent a year studying in France at the University of Rouen.
Her consumer marketing experience stretches across a broad client portfolio, including retail, financial, food, luxury brands and consumer packaged goods sectors. Known for her strategic approaches to complex business and communications challenges and her ability to discover and partner with clients on creative new opportunities, Garnick will bring this vast experience to the diversified Ogilvy PR portfolio which includes, fashion, lifestyles and retail clients. Garnick will be report to Kate Cronin, Managing Director, New York and Samantha Allen, Global Managing Director, Consumer Marketing Group.

A ten year veteran of the public relations industry, Rappold brings her expertise to the consumer marketing group. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR/New York, Rappold was the Director of Public Relations at Cynthia Rowley. Before that, she spent seven years at Burson-Marsteller Worldwide, where she was the Director of the retail and fashion sub practice.
Over the last ten years, Rappold has worked on various fashion and retail brands including LL Bean, Barney's New York, and Gap, Inc., to name a few. In addition to her fashion and retail experience, she also has extensive experience in the lifestyles category, including her work for Sony Ericsson, Orbitz and DeBeers. Rappold has a bachelor of arts degree from Goucher College in Communications and Media strategy and a Master's Degree from City University of New York, Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business in International Marketing.
