Ogilvy PR, Good Scout Group Form Alliance, Build Out Social Good Offering
Focus to amplify reputation via development of impactful and sustainable cause marketing campaigns
NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ogilvy PR and Good Scout Group announce a strategic alliance in which the agencies will partner on key corporate social responsibility (CSR) and cause-related initiatives. The move comes in response to the ever-changing face of today's communications landscape, which presents many brand challenges for companies seeking to have a true societal impact. In fact, when surveyed by Harvard Business Review, 60% of CEOs said they were dissatisfied with their firms' CSR program and authentic, business-focused alignment with cause, providing a strong call to action and opportunity for more strategic, effective social good-based work.
"We are excited to partner with Good Scout as we seek to continue to build our CSR and cause offer in the market," said Jennifer Scott, Head of Ogilvy PR, New York. "Good Scout's deep category expertise and relationships will be a true asset for Ogilvy PR's client base."
Good Scout and Ogilvy PR have worked together in the past, most recently with Nationwide Insurance to develop "Make Safe Happen," a cause program focused on reducing preventable childhood accidents, the #1 killer of kids in the U.S. Since launching in January 2015, the Make Safe Happen brand has continued to grow through an end-to-end marketing campaign, including tools for caregivers such as an interactive website and mobile app, Super Bowl advertising campaign, top tier earned media placements, social media content creation and the development of an Advisory Council of medical experts, safety organizations and parents.
Ogilvy and Good Scout work in collaboration with Nationwide Insurance and other agency partners on the campaign, providing ongoing strategic counsel, supporting the development of the overarching campaign strategy and activating key events and initiatives.
"It's an exciting time for marketing and communications experts, especially in the CSR and cause space," said Jennifer Risi, Managing Director, Ogilvy Media Influence and Head of Media Relations, North America. "As we evolve with today's ever-changing media landscape, the power of a strong social good campaign comes from telling the right message to consumers at the right time and via the right channel. We have seen this firsthand through our work with Good Scout."
"It's no surprise that in an age of increasingly savvy consumers, people want to know what companies are doing to make the world better," said Philips McCarty, CEO, Good Scout. "Combing this imperative with a brand's need for strong marketing and communications strategies in order to effectively and efficiently tell stories and spur change, it is a perfect time to solidify Good Scout's existing relationship with Ogilvy."
Moving forward, the agencies will partner on key client initiatives with the goal of mobilizing entire populations to drive true societal change and the teams look forward to a long-lasting relationship in which they can not only make a difference, but also build brand equity and increase market share for clients.
