Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market showed a decrease of 25% in first 6 months of 2014
Turkish passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market decreased 24.85% in January-June period of 2014 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 286,861. In the first six months of 2013, a total market sales value of 381,743 was reached.
Passenger car sales went down 22.71% in January-June period of 2014, compared the same period of the last year, to 225,773. In the first six months of 2013, 292,106 purchases were made.
In the first six months of 2014, light commercial vehicle market decreased 31.85%, in comparison to the year before, to 61,088. Last year, the sales reached 89,637.
Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market
showed a decrease of 19% in June, 2014.

In June, 2014, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market decreased to 60,163. In comparison to the total number of 74,096 in June 2013 in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went down in a ratio of 18.8%.
In June 2014, passenger car sales went down by 18.89% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 47,278.
Light commercial vehicle market decreased 18.48% in June 2014 compared to June 2013, to 12,885.
In the first six months of 2014, in comparison with the same period of the year before, a decrease of 21.9% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and 39.6% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 1.4% was observed.
When the average emission values of the passenger car market in the first six months 2014 are considered, the passenger cars between 100-120g/km took the largest piece of the pie with a ratio of 40% and with a number of 90,207.
In the first six months of 2014, diesel passenger car sales grabbed a share of 62.5%, while the automatic transmission passenger cars had a share of 45.6%.
In the first six months of 2014, 83.4% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments whose tax ratios are low. The highest sales numbers according to segments were reached in Segment C with a share of 51.6% (a quantity of 116,579) and according to frame, the most preferred body type was the Sedan (46.8%, a quantity of 105,752).
Passenger car and light commercial vehicle market witnessed an increase of 12.41% in first, 11.84% in second, 7.64% in third and 8.09% in the last quarter of 2013. While in the first quarter of 2014, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market went down in a ratio of 24.46% and in the second, it went down in a ratio of 25.12%.
In the first half of 2014;

In the first six months of 2014, passenger car sales went down by 22.71% in comparison to the same period of the year before and became 225,773. In the same period of the last year, the sales reached 292,106.
In June 2014, passenger car sales went down by 18.89% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 47,278. In June of the last year, sales reached 58,290.
The passenger car market, in comparison to the average 10-year June sales, showed an increase of 12.86%.
The "Seasonally Annual Adjusted Rate" of the passenger car market was around 530,000 for June 2014.
In January-June period of 2014, light commercial vehicle sales decreased 31.85% in comparison to the same period of the last year, to 61,088. In the same period of the last year, the sales reached 89,637.
In June 2014, light commercial vehicle sales decreased 18.48% in comparison to the last year, to 12,885. In June of the last year, the sales reached 15,806.
The light commercial vehicle market, in comparison to the average 10-year June sales, showed a decrease of 35.47%.
The "Seasonally Annual Adjusted Rate" of the light commercial vehicle market was around 150,000 for June 2014.
When January-June period of 2014 passenger car market is studied in terms of engine volume, the biggest slice of the pie was taken by passenger cars under 1600cc with a ratio of 94.7% and a number of 213,870. Passenger cars between 1600 to 2000cc followed them with a ratio of 4.2% and passenger cars above 2000cc with a ratio of 1.1%. In comparison with the same period of 2013, a decrease of 21.9% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 39.6% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 1.4% was observed.

When the January-June period of 2014 passenger car market is studied in terms of average emission values, passenger cars between 100-120 gr/km have the highest share of 40.0% (90,207) and following this, passenger cars between 120-140 gr/km have a share of 30.1% (67,942).

Diesel passenger car sales in January-June period of 2014 decreased 18.6% in comparison to the same period last year. Diesel share in passenger car sales in the end of June, 2014, when compared to the same period of 2013, have increased from 59.3% to 62.5% (141,034).

In January-June period of 2014, automatic transmission passenger car sales numbers, in comparison to the same period in 2013, decreased 5.0%. In 2014, automatic transmission passenger car sale shares in the first six months, in comparison to last year, increased from 37.1% to 45.6% (a number of 102,973).

When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 51.6% has the highest sales volume (116,579) and Segment B follows it with a share of 31.0% (69,885).
In January-June period of 2014, when evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (46.8%, a quantity of 105,752). Following Sedan passenger cars, Hatchback frame with a share of 34.0% and a sales volume of 76,746 and SUV with a share of 12.7% and total sales volume of 28,709.

LMC Automotive by 2014, 1st quarter has published 2014&2015 World passenger car market estimations. According to the first quarter results, 2014 World total passenger car market is expected to show an increase of 4.1% in comparison to the last year and reached a number of 91 M. In 2015, World passenger car market is expected to show an increase of 5.2% and reach a number of 95.7 M in comparison to the last year.
LMC Automotive by 2014, 1st quarter has published 2014&2015 World passenger car manufacture estimations. According to the 1st quarter results of LMC Automotive, 2014 World total passenger car manufacture is expected to show an increase of 3.6% in comparison to the last year and reached a number of 91.3 M. In 2015, World passenger car manufacture is expected to show an increase of 5.1% and reach a number of 96 M in comparison to the last year.
According to the Medium Term Program published in October, Turkey's growth rate is expected to be around 4% in 2014. According to IMF World Economic Outlook Report for April, we see that 2014 growth estimation for Turkey is 2.3%.
