Prior to the opening of its Miami operations, OceanGate spent nearly three years delivering manned submersible solutions for West Coast-based clients and conducting multiple expeditions in Washington and California. OceanGate's unique five-person submersible, Antipodes, has allowed its clients to secure 3-D sonar, video imaging, and direct observations at depths as low as 285 meters (936 feet). Antipodes is the only privately owned manned submersible operating under a US Coast Guard Oceanographic Research Vessel designation. The submersible's twin 58-inch hemispherical acrylic domes allow clients unparalleled visibility. OceanGate's client list includes government agencies, universities, citizen scientists, and media content providers.
In addition to the expansion of North American operations to Miami, OceanGate has also hired strategic personnel to lead its expansion and align its maritime assets across several vertical and geographical markets. Colleen Hahn, chief marketing officer; Lynn Mitchell, director of marine operations; Juliana Ruiz, marketing and communications manager; and Shane Zigler, expedition leader, recently joined OceanGate's management team.
"We continue to build our impressive team of professionals who will be able to successfully execute OceanGate's global operations," said Stockton Rush, co-founder and CEO. "We are growing our business to meet the increasing demand for multi-passenger manned submersibles solutions."
