Rachel Flynn to join FivePoint, manager of Lennar's Concord project
CONCORD, Calif., Sept. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- FivePoint announced today that it has hired Rachel Flynn to oversee planning and entitlement of the Concord Naval Weapons Stations. FivePoint is managing the project on behalf of Lennar Concord.
Flynn, an accomplished urban planner, has been Director of Planning and Building for the City of Oakland for the past three-and-a-half years. She will start as Vice President of Planning for FivePoint on Oct. 3, 2016.
"Rachel Flynn is a proven leader and a thoughtful, creative and collaborative planner," said Kofi Bonner, Northern California President of FivePoint. "She understands the complexity inherent in planning and delivering world class developments. Her efforts in Oakland have largely contributed to the new urban vitality currently experienced in the city. Above all, she's a tremendous person and we are delighted that she has agreed to lead our planning and entitlement efforts in Concord.''
Flynn has led planning and building departments in three different cities: Oakland, Richmond, Va. and Lynchburg, Va.
"I am honored to be joining the FivePoint team," Flynn said. "This is a top-notch development company and the Concord project is enormously important in meeting the growing demands of the Bay Area. I look forward to working with Kofi Bonner, his team, and the City of Concord in creating a major development that we can all be proud of. My work in Oakland has been enormously rewarding and I will miss the many colleagues and friends I have worked with over these last few years."

Infrastructure development is expected to begin sometime in 2018.
