KEARNY, N.J., Oct. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- NYONair, the industry leader in aerial photography, has just announced a new consumer experience lounge at Kearny Point. This state-of-the-art facility will entertain and amaze guests from the minute they walk in the door. Helicopter fuselage with an interactive floor will be a major focal point of the 10,000 square foot space. Guests can create their own "shoe selfies" – the shot made famous by NYONair – with their location of choice by simply changing the floor below them. Thrill seekers can take it a step further in the VR room that puts consumers virtually in the air and at a select location with a click of a button. Multiple flat screen TVs throughout the venue display spectacular flight footage from locations all over the country. Additional elements include a control center to monitor flights and weather, a safety briefing room for pre-flight instructions, and a harness room with nearby lockers. Phase two of the project will include a retail shop and a café. While it was created with passengers in mind, the expansive lounge area also lends itself perfectly to private events. This combination lounge/control center/interactive exhibit will disrupt the billion-dollar industry and pave the way for similar ventures in other key markets like Las Vegas, South Beach, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Located in the up-and-coming business district of Kearny Point, this prime location is easily accessible for the entire New York metropolitan area. The Kearny Point revitalization project includes 130 acres and 2 million square feet of space that will have a complete makeover of the historic Kearny shipyard by 2020. Once again, NYONair is ahead of the curve and putting a stake in the future.
"The Kearny location is an ideal fit for NYONair. It provides the space that allows us to share the thrill and excitement of aviation in a modern, tech-savvy way and the valuable proximity to our customer base," said NYONair CEO Patrick Day. "The advances in technology and the power of social sharing have expanded our footprint and demand in the best way possible and we will continue to create new opportunities for consumers to experience NYONair."
The official opening is slated for early December, but the space was unveiled to a select group in September during Fashion Week. Taking full advantage of the space, The Journey Fashion Festival literally flew into the event as lingerie clad models landed out front of the venue and walked onto the fashion show runway inside the Terminal. Between designer showcases, guests were treated to intoxicating dance and song followed by a dose of virtual reality and a breathtaking aerial view of the New York skyline.
Adidas, Leica Camera, and YPO also hosted events at the Terminal during Fashion Week and received a sneak peek of the amazing venue that will be a coveted event location in the months to come.
Guided press tours are available by appointment.
