NSI International's Laser X Brand Continues as a Runaway Hit After The Holidays
Brick and Mortar and .Com Retailers Scramble to Stay in Stock to Meet Overwhelming Consumer Demand
NEW YORK, Feb. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Laser X - the ultimate high-tech game of tag - turned into one of Holiday 2016's most sought after toys, flying off shelves at Toys "R" Us and Target as quickly as it could be stocked. Now, in the typically slow months of January and February, consumers continue to buy out Laser X inventory as they race to get their hands on the amazing home laser tag game that gets kids off the couch and into the action!
Laser X products first appeared on retailer shelves in late October, quickly selling out and leaving frantic parents inundating stores with requests.
"People were paying $200 or more on Amazon and eBay, to get their hands on a double set that normally retails for $49.99. That's just crazy," said Frank Landi, President of NSI International, Inc., the makers of Laser X. "There is simply nothing else like it on the market," he says.
"It's like having a real laser arena in your own backyard," says Landi. "Laser X equips players with their own blasters and receiver vests for pretty much what one day of play at a laser arena costs – and you can play anywhere, as much as you want, with as many people as you want."
Laser X features sophisticated electronics, spectacular lighting effects and optics that allow players to blast each other with pinpoint accuracy from up to 200 feet away. Plus advanced sensors know when players are blasting, being hit, running or hiding. An interactive voice coach uses this information to offer tips and tricks throughout the game.
"This toy gets kids offline and moving," says Brian Waldman, Senior Vice President at NSI and the creator of Laser X. "It's a real-life laser gaming experience, with special effects lighting and sound – but it's easy enough for a young child to play. You can even plug in headphones and listen to a soundtrack that makes you feel like you're inside a video game."
Due to the overwhelming success of the Laser X brand, NSI is expanding the product line. Additional products will be available nationwide later this year.
Laser X double sets include two blasters and two receivers and retail for $49.99, while single sets sell for $24.99. Both products are sold at Target, Toys 'R' Us and GetLaserX.com.
