NineSigma Awarded $2 Million Grant to Help Catalyze the Growth of Ohio's Middle Market Companies

CLEVELAND, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NineSigma, Inc., of Cleveland, the leading innovation partner to organizations worldwide, has been chosen by the State of Ohio to help catalyze the growth of middle market companies throughout the region. NineSigma has been awarded a grant of more than $2 million to accelerate the adoption of open innovation among Ohio companies between $10 Million and $1 Billion in revenues. The Ohio Third Frontier Open Innovation Incentive is aimed at fostering collaboration that will lead to job creation and keep Ohio on the forefront of discovery.

Open innovation involves "looking to the outside" for technologies, solutions, and ideas to accelerate the development of new products and increase speed to market. The State will assist solution seekers by funding a portion of the transactional costs of engaging open innovation intermediaries, and will sponsor a series of forums to provide education and assistance to companies interested in participating in the Open Innovation Incentive.
