Newly launched loyalty and consumer offer app, Beep'nGo, gains another million users in just two weeks
PALO ALTO, Calif., July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Just two weeks after announcing its one millionth download from the Google Play store, Mobeam is pleased to announce that it surpassed two million downloads for its Beep'nGo loyalty and consumer offer app earlier this week. The company does not use any paid or incentivized installs to boost its download numbers.
"The spectacular growth and the positive feedback that we are receiving from our customers is truly amazing, and it positions us to become the leading loyalty, offer, and commerce app in the near future," said Kang Lee, President and CEO of Mobeam.
Beep'nGo, a featured app in Samsung's Galaxy Gifts widget which is pre-installed on the Galaxy S5 smartphone, provides thousands of the best discounts, unique offers, and coupons from leading retailers, manufacturers, and Consumer Packaged Goods companies in the US and in selected geographies worldwide (its coverage is expanding rapidly). In addition, users can scan and store their favorite loyalty, membership, gift cards, and tickets into Beep'nGo. Meanwhile, Mobeam's patented technology enables all point of sale (POS) scanners, including laser scanners, found in retail store and sporting venues worldwide to read barcodes directly from mobile devices. The vast majority of existing POS scanners are laser scanners that cannot read barcodes displayed on smartphone screens due to factors such as the reflective screen and backlighting. Beep'nGo converts these barcodes found on coupons, loyalty cards, and membership cards into beams of light that can be read on any mobile device by every scanner in the market, including the estimated 165 million laser scanners in use around the world today.
In addition, the company is sharing news that Beep'nGo has seen over 13 million impressions in the past month alone for its coupons and offers, and it plans to roll out this popular feature to more countries in the coming months. While the exponential growth rate is welcome news for Mobeam, its main focus continues to be on building best-in-class user experience and bringing more savings and loyalty-based features to the app. Furthermore, the company plans to make Beep'nGo available to more devices soon, beyond its existing support for the Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, and Note 3 devices.
By the end of 2014, Mobeam's technology is expected to be embedded in over 140 million mobile devices and available in over 200 countries. The patented technology from Mobeam took second place at CTIA 2013 Emerging Technology (E-Tech) awards in the Mobile Apps – Money – Payments, Banking, Mobile Commerce, Shopping and Rewards category.
According to Forrester Research, mobile commerce is expected to reach $31 billion by 2016, growing at a 39 percent annual rate.
