New Parenting Book, "Parents for World Peace," Introduces Seven-Step System for Creating Peaceful Environment at Home and Throughout the World
NEW YORK, Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- What if it were possible to eliminate nearly all conflict, both large and small, from the world around us? According to author Laura Fobler, it's not that unrealistic. In her recently released book, Parents for World Peace, she discusses a unique methodology that she has developed to avoid conflicts in everyday life, starting at home, that can have profound results on the greater world when put into practice. Through her easy-to-put-into practice system, she believes that a solution to global conflicts can be right around the corner.
In the book, Fobler describes the direct connection between conflicts in the world people experience each day, both domestically and globally, and an accepted parenting style based on inequality that many parents implementing without even knowing it. Through laying out seven simple, actionable steps, she gives parents a wake-up call with the goal of changing their perspective and approach to parent-child communication forever.
Given the recent turmoil that the world is experiencing, Fobler has made it her mission to play a role in resolving conflict starting with parents in their own homes. One of the main themes that she has examined is the use and abuse of power, starting with parent-child relationships, and how it is directly responsible for nearly every problem society faces today. Through her book and the seven steps that it details, she believes that children who are raised with a sense of equality will never resort to violence in adulthood. The result of large-scale implementation of this system would be a peaceful environment both at home and on a global scale.
"When I look around the world today, I see that many of the problems that we face stem from misunderstandings about and abuses of power systems," says Laura Fobler, author of Parents for World Peace. "Conflicts are an inherent part of human nature, but I truly believe that through the right mix of guidance and effort we can practically eliminate many of the issues that we are currently facing in the world. And it all starts with parents at home."
Born in The Netherlands, Fobler earned a master's degree in psychology and began her career as a consultant for a leading Dutch bank. Through years of working with clients, she realized her true passion for interpersonal communication and decided to become a career coach and counselor. It was through this work that she made an important discovery: the majority of people have been raised by parents, often unknowingly, who did not know how to nurture confidence and self-esteem in such a way that would help them to avoid conflict later in life.
