At a campaign stop at the Iowa State Fair today, Mitt Romney told a crowd in response to a question about corporations paying their fair share that "corporations are people." With this stunning admission, there's no longer any question whose side Mitt Romney and his fellow Republican candidates are on—the side of the special interests, large corporations, millionaires and billionaires, not that of middle class families, seniors, or students. In response, the DNC released a web video to highlight Romney's support for policies that protect corporate loopholes at the expense of middle class families, entitled "Romney and the Luckiest People in the World." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOIMXxytv2U&feature=youtu.be
"Mitt Romney just can't help himself," said DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse. "His strange logic that 'corporations are people' is further proof of Mitt Romney and his Republican allies' misplaced priorities. They are more than willing to advocate for policies that benefit large corporations and the wealthiest Americans and place the burden on the backs of the middle class, seniors, and students. Romney and his fellow Republican candidates should stop turning their backs on working Americans and start fighting for them."
