New Dating App, The Grade, Reveals Dating Grades For New York City Boroughs
Data Reveals Manhattan Singles Get an "A", While Bronx Singles Fail
NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Grade, a mobile dating application recently launched by Snap Interactive, Inc. ("SNAP" or the "Company") (OTCQB: STVI), announced dating grades for singles in each New York City borough. The data shows that Manhattan men and women ranked highest on average with an "A" grade driven by quality user profiles, while Bronx men and women received on average an "F" grade due to low profile scores and poor message quality.
The Grade also released an interactive map depicting the detailed grade breakdowns of New York City by borough, which can be viewed at Online Dating Grades For NYC Singles or http://www.thegradedating.com/online-dating-grades-new-york-city-singles/.
The Grade uses a proprietary algorithm that assigns letter grades to users ranging from "A+" to "F" based on three categories: profile quality, message quality, and responsiveness. Below are some of the results uncovered by comparing the grades of New York City's boroughs:
- Manhattan women have an overall "A" grade and are liked by men 46% of the time, the highest of any borough.
- Manhattan men also rank the highest with an "A-". They are liked by women 9.8% of the time (50% more often on average than other NYC men) and have the strongest message quality with only 6% of their messages containing 'low-quality' content.
- Bronx singles received the lowest grades with both men and women receiving an average grade of "F". Bronx women were liked only 35% of the time, while Bronx men were liked 5.9% of the time (compared to 9.8% for Manhattan men). Bronx men and women wrote the most 'low-quality' messages due to inappropriate language and slang.
- Brooklyn men, although receiving a "C-" overall, have their messages responded to by women 45% of the time (which is the highest response rate of men from any of the boroughs).
SNAP's Chief Executive Officer, Clifford Lerner, says, "We are excited to see the concept of The Grade resonating so strongly with singles in New York City. These singles are known to be very busy with limited time to focus on their dating lives. Therefore, it's not a surprise that a dating app using our method of accountability to build a community of high-quality users is so appealing to New York City singles."
Mr. Lerner continued, "Manhattan is typically known as one of the most appealing locations for singles for many reasons, including its cultural diversity, nightlife, and high concentration of successful singles. Now, The Grade has the data to support Manhattan as a premier location for singles based on their "A" grades."
Since its launch on November 10th, The Grade has gained traction in NYC with over 750,000 swipes, 6,000 matches, and 25,000 messages from NYC singles.
The Grade is currently free and available to download here in the App Store on iTunes or by searching "The Grade Dating". The Grade also provides metric updates, news, and additional information on its Twitter account @thegradeapp or www.twitter.com/thegradeapp.

About The Grade
The Grade is the first dating application that holds users accountable for their behavior by using a proprietary algorithm that assigns letter grades to users ranging from "A+" to "F" based on profile quality, responsiveness, and message quality. Users with a grade of "D" or "F" receive a warning and instructions on how to improve their grade, while users who maintain an "F" are expelled. They do have the ability to "appeal" the decision by providing compelling reasons why they should be allowed back; however, re-entry is not guaranteed. By expelling low-quality users who receive an "F" grade, The Grade aims to create a community of high-quality users who are desirable, articulate and responsive.
