Netswitch Announces Anti-Phishing Email Software In MADROC 2.0
SAN FRANCISCO, June 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Netswitch today announced the release of the MADROC 2.0 Enterprise Edition for accelerated, end-to-end cyber security defense, incident response and remediation services. Included in this release is the introduction of the VeriPost™ Anti-Phishing solution targeted at preventing fraudulent emails containing malware from entering customers' environments.
Phishing is responsible for over 90% of the malware infections in today's corporate network environments. Phishing works by tricking employees into opening emails containing malicious code which then is ingested into the underlying network infrastructure resulting in expensive breaches. Target Stores' now famous breach was initiated by a successful phishing attack on one of its vendors.
Traditional anti-spam security products require a hosted email service or physical appliances, and they look for known threats. VeriPost™ is a next-generation email security solution that uses advanced behavioral analytics to uncover phishing attempts and alert targeted e-mail recipients in real-time before they open the fraudulent message.
The VeriPost™ technology examines both the content and context of each e-mail and compares the results to known baseline behaviors associated with the sender. If the result is suspicious, VeriPost™ flags the e-mail with an alert that indicates the degree of confidence in the sender's authenticity. The intended recipient may elect to open or discard the message or sandbox it for subsequent forensic analysis.
VeriPost™ integrates simply with every major e-mail system, performs all computations in the cloud and automatically indexes profiles for all correspondents. In addition it monitors and analyzes all e-mail threads and integrates all related social networking data to augment every correspondent profile.
"We are very excited about this release," says Stanley Li, CEO and president of Netswitch. "As the 2015 Data Breach Reports have illustrated, phishing is still the top attack vector, primarily because it is still so effective. Attackers find creative ways to exploit our trust in email correspondents by making emails or websites appear to be associated with the sender and finding ways to leverage the sender's own documents to deliver malware. VeriPost™ is designed to warn recipients and prevent them from inadvertently opening malicious emails before an infection occurs. Our laboratory tests prove that VeriPost™ is effective 99.9% of the time."
