Neat Adds Smart Email Feature to Streamline eReceipt Management
New capability saves time by automatically pulling receipts from emails into Neat's Smart Organization System
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- from Showstoppers @ CES 2015 -- Neat®, a leader in Smart Organization Systems for the small business and consumer markets, today announced the addition of a smart email feature to the company's cloud-based application.
Neat's software is already capable of identifying and managing common types of essential documents, such as receipts, invoices and business cards. The new feature will recognize receipts in your email inbox. Once identified, the electronic receipt is automatically placed into the user's Neat account where data such as purchase date, merchant name and total purchase price are parsed from the receipt and put to work in budgeting and expense management workflows and fed into popular tax and accounting applications.
"Very few people have a good process or workflow for dealing with eReceipts and that slows them down. Electronic receipts often sit in random email folders, get converted to PDFs, or worse, are printed onto paper," observed Patrick Curley, chief product officer at Neat. "Neat's new smart email feature ensures that all your purchase documentation, regardless of its original format, can be quickly organized and put to good use, saving time and letting you focus on bigger things." The Neat cloud-based Smart Organization System gets information from any number of sources — paper documents scanned directly to Neat, as digital documents emailed into a user's Neat account, or even as images snapped by Neat's mobile app. The ability to have commonly used email accounts automatically searched for receipts joins a list of capabilities that streamline tedious tasks.
At CES 2015, Neat will demonstrate its ability to connect to email accounts, automatically identify receipts and bring them into Neat. The email connect capability will be available to Neat subscribers in early 2015. Neat will have the ability to identify and process other documents like emailed invoices later this year.
"This new capability is yet another way Neat is improving productivity by streamlining common workflows," added Curley. "For busy individuals and industrious small businesses, every minute saved on administrative tasks is time they can and should be using for more important matters."
