National Science Teachers Association and Intel Corporation Convene National Town Hall Meeting At NSTA National Conference on Science Education
Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell to Join Town Hall to Discuss STEM Education in Pennsylvania and How Teachers are Working to Prepare Students for the Challenges of the 21st Century
ARLINGTON, Va., March 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This past year has brought about tremendous visibility in science education, especially with the renewed focus and commitment by the federal government to improve STEM education in the U.S. Yet, there is still much more to be done to strengthen and sustain the teaching and learning of science in this country.
Join us for a national conversation and interactive session with Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, national leaders, business executives, teachers and administrators as we discuss the state of science education and how teachers are working to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. Portions of "imagine it! The Power of Imagination," a powerful documentary about connecting imagination and creativity with science and engineering in education, will be used throughout the event. (A special viewing of imagine it! The Power of Imagination is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Millennium Hall).
On March 18-21, the National Science Teachers Association, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Science Teachers Association (PSTA), will host its 58th National Conference on Science Education at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Designed to enhance and expand science educators' professional growth, the four-day conference will feature thousands of hands-on workshops, presentations about the latest breakthroughs in science, and demonstrations covering every discipline, grade level and teaching focus. Participants from across the country will learn about the latest in science content, teaching strategy and research; network with fellow education professionals; and hear thought-provoking presentations from world-renowned scientists and educators.
